Welcome to this weekends tribute to Birthdays.

This bubble clip is retiring and I am sad because they just got here.  These clips are fun!!
The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Keeping the inside simple for more room to write.

Trevor is home from School this weekend, so excited.  I did get him to help with this card, I love spending time in the craft room with him.  He picked the colors and asked for a more funky look. This is what we came up with...
Thanks Trevor!!

The Seasonal Sayings stamp set, "Celebrate" is retiring, looks good in multi colors.
Putting the Celebrate in the Filmstrip die it fit perfect.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend folks!!

Today and this weekend is all about the birthday cards...

A very good friend of mine celebrated her birthday yesterday.

Above is the inside of the card I gave her. Just a small sentiment and my favorite flower from the Petite Petals stamps... The flowers here are important, my friend and I love to garden, we share flowers, seeds, plants and ideas.  Her Hubby took us flower shopping on Thursday. Dreary day here in Indiana, but great day shopping for FLOWERS!!

Using a beautiful retiring stamp set, My Friend.  The inside sentiment and the "flower" background are two stamps from that set.  The "Happy Birthday" is also from a retiring set, Create a Cupcake.

The new "Hardwood" stamp is a perfect back drop for this card, just adding some texture.  Creating this on Basic Grey and using "Craft" Whisper White, the same color combo for the flowers.

Adding the extra layer on the banner adds a lot.

Curling the flower petals is done with a bone folder. Rhinestone just finish them off.

Just a couple different dimensions for this card but it does not have to be mailed. Hand delivery for this one!!

Enjoy your weekend!!

April '14

Have you gotten over the shock of your favorite stamp set being on the Retirement list??

I was surprised at a few things on the list myself, but will not allow myself to be sad until I see the new book.... I have faith that Stampin' Up! will not let me down!!

Today's share is a card that includes all retirement items... can you pick them out?

Betsy's Blossoms with the matching wheel.

Yes, the leaves did get cut out by hand.

All the colors are from the retiring In Colors,
Primrose Petal
Raspberry Ripple
Gumball Green

There is some dimension to this card due to the flower layers,
the knots of the ribbon too.

I love this bird cut out... she is just asking for that Rhinestone eye.
It was a tough decision about a sentiment. To add one or leave blank, I really was not sure.  The bird looks great holding this "banner"  birthday.

I would like to see if you can pick out the items here that are NOT retiring.

Leave a comment here on how many you find.

Reminder: Flowers and Folds Stamp camp money is due Friday.  Are you signed up yet? Not sure what Stamp Camp is all about email me and I will fill you in on all the details!

Happy Easter!!

I would like to show you my Easter Basket...

The layered background was embossed using Scalloped Textured Impressions from the Occasions book.
and a very decorated Easter Egg...

Petite Petal Punch that add just a pop of color.

Wisteria Wonder Chevron Ribbon is a Perfect Big ribbon.

I used the the Oval Framelits and the largest is a Scallop Oval.

You can see the "hinge", how do you get that you ask... Well if you let the framelit hang over the side just enough you will get that hinge.

You know when you get something done and you think all day about what you should have done?? Well that is what I was doing Friday.  I did not like the empty inside and was pondering what to put on the inside... WELL it needed a bunny butt.

The picture is poor here (sorry!!), but wanted to show you how cute it is.. just using the small oval punch and yes, the petite petal punch for ears.

I hope you enjoyed this weekends cards!!
Happy Easter.

Happy Easter Weekend!!

I hope everyone gets to enjoy the weather and time with their Families!!
Today we have two cards, one more spring and the second clean and simple Easter.

Here is your spring card... Woodgrain Embossing folder, Butterflies and pretty Strawberry Slush Ruffled Ribbon.  Note the folded front... this is a half gate card.  Leaving half of your inside card exposed.  A couple more butterflies carries on the theme..

Keeping the Rhinestones to one color highlights them...

Two layers of Ruffled ribbon adds a presence ..

As you can see the front is basically flat, so this too is mailable.

It is difficult to see but on the inside there are two butterflies, one is "dirtied" up with a sponge to help you see it... in this small version of the picture it is difficult to see... enlarge to see what I mean.

Here is our second card... using Watercolor Wonder DSP and colors from that to highlight and bring the two different patterns together.  Banner Framelits are used here.  Yes, I really do like them!!

The stamp set is called Eggstra Spectacular.

This is a coloring that I can do, but apparently I should have pulled out the blender pen to do a better job, haha

This also has a low profile for easy mailing.

I do love my dimensionals though.

Have a Happy Easter! Stop by for a super cute card tomorrow.

Today, I figured another Masculine card would be nice...

Boy there are a Ton of cards with Flowers lately, you have to know I have be itching to get out and work in the gardens.  I can actually say I have been pulling weeds and cleaning things up out there!!

Here is another Birthday card...
The sentiment is slightly sarcastic and fun.

Using the Soho Subway DSP again (Sunday's Card), The colors and look were perfect, just a touch of pattern.
The sentiment is on one die cut from Apothecary Accents and one end is just "cut" off.

The inside, using Washi tape from Epic Day and a scrap of Soho Subway..

The front has a clean and simple look.
Just a couple layers add the interest.

and Yes, this is a slim card and mailable.

Enjoy your day!!

Happy Sunday!!
Welcome to day two of Masculine Card weekend!

Today is with out a doubt a Birthday Card.

The Banner Framelits were the way to go...

10 different banners (including the inside)...some pattern and some plain cardstock...
Trying to figure out the arrangement was difficult... actually.
Arranging before adhering is important.  They all ended up with the same straight line across the top but to me it still did not look finished.  But what do you do when you want to change things and YUP, you adhered the banners?? Well, get your trimmer out and ...

Make it go thru to the inside.
Normally, I personally don't like to see the ribbon on the inside.  For this one though I had an idea.   I wanted to make it look like the banner actually "folded" to the inside of the card..

See how the banner happened to go to the outside edge?  That is why I put the inside sentiment all the way to the left (picture above).

With plenty of room available to write your note!!

I know there are a "few" people that will have an issue with this card due to the different patterns... that is why I used the plain cardstock in hopes to tame all the pattern.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!! and Have a Great day getting Crafty!!
