Can you believe it?? I did get this photo-polymer stamp set.
And guess what?? I really like it.  I have found that is works better with the new ink pads vs. the old (which yes I still have some).  This card in a box used all old ink pads and I have to say I LOVE it!!

This is the best sentiment.
To me, it tells Anyone that reads it......"Being You" is Beautiful!!

Using Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo on each other, it created two totally different colors, dontcha love that??

The accents of DSP here are from the Sweet Taffy pack.
(Note: buy 3 get 1 free does apply to this paper)

Could you be grumpy after this one, I do not think so!!

Well, you have seen all from the latest stamp camp... between the Facebook posts and here..

I am excited today... This beauty has new ribbon!!
Yes, that is the new cotton ribbon.

Using our grid paper and the Stamp-a-ma-jig this "line" stamp is spaced wonderfully.
Yes, that is 'dirtied' on the edges.

The cluster of flowers and sentiment are a great eye catcher, and with them being 'dirtied' too the ribbon stands out even more.
Can you see that the "hello" is slightly curled??

It Started with...

Reminder of yesterdays post...
So, what are these you ask... Those are slats from a louvered bifold door.
Yes, I love bifolds for the height they offer. This one actually came apart, I saved the slats knowing that I could come up with SOMETHING to do with them...

While shopping with my wonderful Hubby, we saw this kinda cool picket fence picture holder and this is where I started thinking!!
You NEVER know where your inspiration will come from.

Here is how it started!!

Using the Tombow Multipurpose Glue, which by the way is not the best adhesive for this project, but all I had at the time... the hot glue gun didn't work either.  Which now you see where my problem came in on yesterday's post.  My Hubby suggested a multipurpose epoxy, but none at the house, doesn't it figure, GEEZZ.
Anyway, all the slats were the same length, using a box cutter it was easy to "trim" the two vertical pieces to the size needed.

Paper, Ribbon, Linen Thread and half of a Doily.

This Stamp set, Feel Goods, is FULL of amazing phrases. This one is one of my favorites.
Yes, I did "dirty" up the edges of both papers here.

This comes together and just adds, I think, to the rustic look of my 'fence' section.

I am sorry, I forgot that the Bigz Butterfly die retired until I starting putting together my post.
Really wanting to use the metal, and not sure about punching it out, I left it.

Decorative Dots Embossing folder is how those polka dots got on there, YES you can emboss metal, so long as it is thin.

Pleased with how the 'flower' turned out, I will show you tomorrow step by step how it all was put together.

Ready for the whole thing??
This could be an even longer post, if I showed you all the steps of the flower.

A few flowers with Rhinestones and a few others from glitter paper.. and those just add the pretties.

See you tomorrow with the flower post and

Sketches

Have you ever heard of other card makers using sketches?
BUT just can not figure out where to begin??

Well, here is my thoughts... from the beginning.

I love OWH sketches, there is a new one every week, they come out on Sunday.
I donate all my unused cards to them, for the soldiers. I have a badge on my sidebar.
Anyway, So, the first thing I do is pick a theme.
Continuing with my graduation theme from the weekend.

Then, I look at the shapes on the sketch, NO you do not have to be exact.
I like the three "strips" here the first thing I thought of was ribbon.
Now, what can I do with the rectangles....HUMM??   Again, the first thing that popped into my head was Apothecary accents, the long piece.

Now into the craft room I went.
Picking colors, ribbon and of course little pretties too.
Ohhhh the juices are flowing now... The sentiment was easy, I have been looking for a reason to use this one:

Here is my version.. can you see the sketch??

The new In Color ribbon became my "strips".

and the sentiment fit perfectly in the 6th from the smallest circle framelit.

The inside was just left simple with three new punch flower from the new Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.

Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss look just amazing together.

I do hope that this little step by step helped.  Any questions just email me.  I will do my best to help!

Graduation

Happy Sunday!!
Today is another Graduation card.  This one has a different approach.

I know I will get some grief from a few followers because....

YES, IT HAS BUTTERFLIES!!

Have you tried mixing ribbons yet??
If not, WHY not!!

Have you every embellished your ribbon??
Why not??

The sentiments are mixed here, one retiring and one new!!
Why is a butterfly good luck if its upside down?? Someone please explain!!
To me, it is falling, I don't know.

May Stamp Camp

Flowers and Folds Stamp Camp
day five

Today's card had inspiration... but first the fold.
I love an Easel fold.  How about the different look of a side easel??
Above is what it looks like opened up(from the back).

The inspiration for this card was from Dawn's Stamping Studio...
I loved her card, and thought it was just BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you, Dawn for ALL your inspiration!!

Dawn used Crumb Cake and I wanted color but still simple... with just a dash of pretty.

Ruffled Ribbon, New Thick Bakers twine and sparkle of Rhinestones.....

Did you see the NEW cute little flower punch again??

Here is how the card looks from the front "Open".

Note: no sentiment.. why you ask?? I just could not find one that fit. But, the other reason is which way do you put it??

Question?? Do you always need a sentiment??

Have you forgotten about the BLOG CANDY??
Is this your favorite??

Today and this weekend is all about the birthday cards...

A very good friend of mine celebrated her birthday yesterday.

Above is the inside of the card I gave her. Just a small sentiment and my favorite flower from the Petite Petals stamps... The flowers here are important, my friend and I love to garden, we share flowers, seeds, plants and ideas.  Her Hubby took us flower shopping on Thursday. Dreary day here in Indiana, but great day shopping for FLOWERS!!

Using a beautiful retiring stamp set, My Friend.  The inside sentiment and the "flower" background are two stamps from that set.  The "Happy Birthday" is also from a retiring set, Create a Cupcake.

The new "Hardwood" stamp is a perfect back drop for this card, just adding some texture.  Creating this on Basic Grey and using "Craft" Whisper White, the same color combo for the flowers.

Adding the extra layer on the banner adds a lot.

Curling the flower petals is done with a bone folder. Rhinestone just finish them off.

Just a couple different dimensions for this card but it does not have to be mailed. Hand delivery for this one!!

Enjoy your weekend!!

Have you gotten over the shock of your favorite stamp set being on the Retirement list??

I was surprised at a few things on the list myself, but will not allow myself to be sad until I see the new book.... I have faith that Stampin' Up! will not let me down!!

Today's share is a card that includes all retirement items... can you pick them out?

Betsy's Blossoms with the matching wheel.

Yes, the leaves did get cut out by hand.

All the colors are from the retiring In Colors,
Primrose Petal
Raspberry Ripple
Gumball Green

There is some dimension to this card due to the flower layers,
the knots of the ribbon too.

I love this bird cut out... she is just asking for that Rhinestone eye.
It was a tough decision about a sentiment. To add one or leave blank, I really was not sure.  The bird looks great holding this "banner"  birthday.

I would like to see if you can pick out the items here that are NOT retiring.

Leave a comment here on how many you find.

Reminder: Flowers and Folds Stamp camp money is due Friday.  Are you signed up yet? Not sure what Stamp Camp is all about email me and I will fill you in on all the details!

Happy Easter Weekend!!

I hope everyone gets to enjoy the weather and time with their Families!!
Today we have two cards, one more spring and the second clean and simple Easter.

Here is your spring card... Woodgrain Embossing folder, Butterflies and pretty Strawberry Slush Ruffled Ribbon.  Note the folded front... this is a half gate card.  Leaving half of your inside card exposed.  A couple more butterflies carries on the theme..

Keeping the Rhinestones to one color highlights them...

Two layers of Ruffled ribbon adds a presence ..

As you can see the front is basically flat, so this too is mailable.

It is difficult to see but on the inside there are two butterflies, one is "dirtied" up with a sponge to help you see it... in this small version of the picture it is difficult to see... enlarge to see what I mean.

Here is our second card... using Watercolor Wonder DSP and colors from that to highlight and bring the two different patterns together.  Banner Framelits are used here.  Yes, I really do like them!!

The stamp set is called Eggstra Spectacular.

This is a coloring that I can do, but apparently I should have pulled out the blender pen to do a better job, haha

This also has a low profile for easy mailing.

I do love my dimensionals though.

Have a Happy Easter! Stop by for a super cute card tomorrow.

Good day, everyone!! Hope your Sunday is lovely!

Sunday in my house is a simple, hang out and relax kinda day.
Today's card mirrors that:

Petite Petal stamps, punch and the Bird Punch are all that is needed here.
Note: The flowers are punched from Whisper White,
sponging the two and stamping one, keeps it simple.
Adding a very small amount of sponging to the edges of the corners, VERY lightly, just to add that little something..

I could not help myself... it needed something and the Rhinestone did the trick.
Note: The extra pieces of thread... they were scraps and just add a little more
presence to the Linen Thread.

Blissfully enjoy your day today and have a Great day getting Crafty!!
